Kew Country Club is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Greenkeeper. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is committed to achieving high standards. No prior experience is required, as we provide all the necessary training and support. The position offers a good working environment, with a 38-hour week that may include some weekend work and overtime. As an Apprentice Greenkeeper at Kew Country Club, you will have the opportunity to complete a 4-year apprenticeship (or earlier, depending on competency-based completion) and attain a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. This structured training program combines on-the-job learning with specialized training to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in Sports Turf Management. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will assist in the development and maintenance of sports facilities, parks, and gardens. Your responsibilities may include tasks such as mowing, weeding, fertilising, drainage installation, irrigation repairs, watering duties, and operating specialized golf course equipment. The team will embark on a memorable journey starting in Dubbo and ending in Mudgee, with stops along the way in central Queensland, including a visit to Karumba in the north. Driving their 1984 Mercedes as “The Avengers – Car 2445,” these local heroes aim to raise $20,000 for disabled and disadvantaged children. A big round of applause to the winning team of Brendan Pinson, Andrew Bird, Clayton Semchyshyn, and Max Frolich for their outstanding performance at the event.
