A Night to Remember for LUSC Members What a night it was! On Saturday 29th August, Laurieton Services Club hosted another fantastic Member Exclusive Event, and what a wonderful evening it turned out to be. Members came together for a night filled with delicious canapés, tasty cocktails from the bar, plenty of laughs, and live entertainment from the talented Mat Brooker. These member evenings are a heartfelt way for the club to say thank you to the people who make LUSC what it is. There’s something truly special about seeing familiar faces come together, catch up over good food and drinks, and enjoy everything the club has to offer in a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere. A Team Effort Behind the Scenes A massive shoutout goes to Head Chef Heshan and his team for putting together an incredible spread on the night. The canapés were a hit, and the care that went into the food was evident from the first bite. Equal recognition goes to Functions Coordinator Jaimee-Lee, whose hard work behind the scenes was instrumental in bringing the entire evening together seamlessly. It was also wonderful to have Club President April, along with Directors Garry and Amy, join members on the night – spending time with the community and enjoying the festivities alongside everyone else. 13 Years of Dedication in the Boardwalk Bistro Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone — 13 years of Adele at Laurieton Services Club! A familiar and welcoming face in our Boardwalk Bistro, Adele has been a cherished part of the LUSC family for over a decade, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have her on our team. A Decade of Dedication at the Deck Café Over the weekend, Laurieton Services Club had the pleasure of celebrating a very special milestone — 10 incredible years of Ros at our Deck Café! It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise someone who has become such a familiar and beloved face at the club. Over the past decade, Ros has been part of so many milestones, changes, celebrations and memorable moments here at LUSC. Through it all, her friendly nature, warm smile and unwavering dedication to our members and guests have made her a truly valued part of our club family. For so many regulars, a visit to the Deck Café simply wouldn’t be quite the same without Ros behind the counter. Thank You, Ros! Ros is an absolute asset to LUSC, and we are incredibly grateful for the hard work, loyalty and care she has given to the club over the past 10 years. Whether it’s the perfectly made coffees, the familiar laughs or the little moments that make members feel at home — Ros has been at the heart of it all. A Night to Remember for Our Members What a night it was! Laurieton Services Club recently hosted a Members Exclusive Event that had everything you could ask for – fresh seafood, delicious canapés, tasty cocktails, and live entertainment from the lovely Ann Woodland. The evening was all about celebrating the incredible community we have here at LUSC, and it’s safe to say the night delivered on every front. Members mingled, laughed, and enjoyed a spectacular spread put together by our talented Head Chef Heshan, who truly outdid himself with the canapés and fresh seafood on offer. Highlights from the Evening The bar kept the cocktails flowing all night, and we may have found ourselves a new official cocktail review courtesy of member Trevor Robb, who declared that a margarita was “saltier than the ocean!” We couldn’t agree more, Trevor – and we’re officially adopting that as our stamp of approval! A huge thank you goes to our Functions Coordinator Jaimee-Lee, whose hard work and dedication behind the scenes brought the entire evening together seamlessly. It was also wonderful to welcome Directors Steve and April, who joined our members to share in the celebrations. Nights like these are what the Laurieton Services Club community is all about – bringing people together, sharing great food and drinks, and creating memories that last. Honouring Vietnam Veterans at LUSC Despite the weather having other plans, our community came together at Laurieton Services Club to commemorate Vietnam Veterans’ Day in a moving and meaningful indoor service. It was heartening to see so many members gather to pause, reflect and recognise the courage, sacrifice and service of all Australians who served during the Vietnam War, and to remember those who sadly never returned home. A very special thank you to the Laurieton RSL Sub-Branch for organising and delivering such an excellent service. Laurieton Services Club was proud to provide a space for both the commemoration and the luncheon that followed, bringing our community together in honour of our veterans. We will remember them. Lest We Forget. 🌹

Farewell and Best Wishes to Daniel Adelt We would like to take this opportunity to inform our members that Daniel Adelt, our Assistant Superintendent, has resigned from his position at Laurieton Services Club (Kew). Daniel has been with us for six years, working his way up from an Apprentice to 2nd in charge of the greens team. Throughout his time at the club, he has been a valuable asset and has played an important role in making many improvements to the golf course. Daniel has decided to pursue an exciting new career as a Diesel locomotive train operator. His last day with us will be Friday, 21st of August. We thank Daniel sincerely for his dedication, hard work, and the positive contribution he has made to our club and golf course. We wish him all the very best for the future in his new venture.

A Free Community Concert Inspired by the Sea Mark your calendar for a delightful afternoon of live music this Sunday. The Camden Haven Concert Band Inc. and Laurieton Voices are joining forces for Poseidon’s Playlist, a free community concert celebrating songs inspired by the sea. Under the direction of Musical Director Iain Pole, the combined performers will take audiences on a musical voyage – from timeless classics to toe-tapping favourites, all with a watery theme. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the incredible local talent right here in our community.
