Get ready to swing, snap your fingers, and hit the dance floor. Jazz & Jive is coming to Kew Country Club, bringing an afternoon of smoky jazz standards and foot-stomping early rock ‘n’ roll every fourth Sunday of the month. The first session kicks off on Sunday 23 August from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with doors opening at 1:30pm.

Jazz & Jive is a dynamic musical collaboration between Kelly Guthrie (vocals/guitar) and Larry Belton (bass/vocals) – two versatile and talented musicians who blend the elegance of jazz with the raw energy of early rock and roll. Drawing on the timeless phrasing of Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Etta James, the warmth of Louis Armstrong’s horn, and the foot-stomping drive of Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Bill Haley and His Comets, the duo crafts a set that moves effortlessly between the sultry and the spirited.

A Live Experience That’s Never Quite the Same Twice

Joining Kelly and Larry on stage are feature artists Paul Styles (lead guitar/vocals) and Scott Gould (saxophone), along with various pop-up collaborators who add fresh textures and surprises throughout the afternoon. It’s this shifting, generous lineup that gives Jazz & Jive its live, in-the-moment feel – no two sets ever quite the same, and always built for a crowd that wants to move.

This isn’t a sit-and-listen show – it’s an invitation. Come for the songs you know, stay for the ones that surprise you, and don’t be afraid to find your feet on the dance floor. Solo dancers are just as welcome as those bringing a partner along.

Tickets are $15 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free. Tickets are available at the door or in advance via Humanitix. Grab a drink, settle in, and let the band do the rest.
