Celebrating Four Decades of the Camden Haven Garden Club

Laurieton United Services Club was proud to host the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the Camden Haven Garden Club — a remarkable milestone marking four decades of friendship, community and a shared love of gardening. Port Macquarie-Hastings Mayor Adam Roberts attended the event to help recognise this significant occasion, and we were honoured to welcome him alongside so many wonderful members.

A Club Built on Passion and Community

Founded in 1985, the Camden Haven Garden Club began as a small gathering of local gardening enthusiasts who simply wanted to share ideas and foster a love of all things green. Over the past 40 years, it has flourished into a thriving community organisation with a diverse calendar of activities, including guest speakers, educational workshops, garden visits, bus trips, flower shows and community projects. The club has also published regular newsletters and supported local initiatives, remaining a welcoming place for seasoned gardeners and beginners alike.

The anniversary celebrations also took a moment to honour the founding members whose vision helped establish the club. Special acknowledgement was given to Foundation President Joy Ward, Treasurer Kath Warren and Secretary Lesley Hindly, whose dedication and passion laid the foundations for what has become one of the Camden Haven’s longest-standing community organisations.

A heartfelt congratulations to all past and present members who have contributed to the club’s success. Your commitment and friendship have created a wonderful legacy that continues to enrich the local community. We wish the Camden Haven Garden Club many more years of growth, blooming success and shared camaraderie.
